How to Become a Junior Librarian

4th graders are given the opportunity to apply to become a Junior Librarian at the beginning of the school year. This is a competitive job application since it is a true leadership opportunity within our school. Approximately 10-15 students are selected.

When do Junior Librarians work?

Junior Librarians are assigned one morning each week where they come to the Learning Commons to assist with the morning rush (7:10-7:40am).

What do Junior Librarians do?

Junior Librarians learn how to assist other students with:
-book selection
-using computers to search for books
-locating books
-using the self-checkout station
They also learn how to sort books, shelve books, and do other miscellaneous jobs as needed.
